From the Super Star Baton, the Lite Star Baton, and the Starlet Baton to the Comet Baton, Venus Baton, and the new Lumina V2 Light-up baton – used by world champions and Cirque du Soleil performers – each twirling baton is made of the highest quality materials including bend-resistant, chrome-plated steel, perfectly weighted for top performance. And all batons include a one-year manufacturer's warranty against defects. Learn why champions worldwide choose Star Line Batons!
Band Shoppe knows getting the right fit is almost as important as the baton itself. A baton that is too long may feel uncomfortable and get caught on the twirler's body or uniform, while a baton that is too short may be awkward to handle and look odd. That's why we carry every length of baton available from both Star Line and Sharp batons.

Twirling batons that are textured can make it a little easier for the twirler to grip, and they add a little touch of sparkle in the sun or under stadium lights. And some majorettes prefer the clean, aerodynamic look of a smooth baton. There's really no wrong answer! Whatever you choose, Band Shoppe has a baton for you.
Available on most styles, the baton shaft is perfectly smooth, free of fluting or dimples.
Only available on the Fluted Super Star baton, this shaft features a small horizontal divot.
Only available on the Comet baton, this shaft features a series of small dot indents.
Only available on the Venus baton, these hand-hammered dimples give a reflective sparkle.
The diameter is the thickness of the baton shaft. Determining the right diameter of your twirling baton ultimately comes down to feel, but here a few guidelines to follow:
The 5/16" baton shaft is the ideal baton for very young twirlers, twirlers with smaller hands and fingers, or twirlers preferring a lighter feel.
The 3/8" baton shaft is the standard size, best for younger students and beginners.*If you're not sure or just starting out – this is the suggested size.
The 7/16" baton shaft is thicker, with a heavier feel and should only be used by more advanced twirlers who prefer a more substantial feel.

So what is SensiCore? SensiCore is a patented technology from Star Line that uses a frequency tuned polymer core, located inside the baton shaft, to eliminate up to 70% of unwanted vibrations. This reduction in vibrations allows twirlers to practice longer because it decreases the effects of "shock" on the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders, radically improving feel. And SensiCore helps you perform better while in competition!
SensiCore's unique ability to decrease vibration and enhance the feel of the steel batons shaft is unmatched and is available only from Star Line. SensiCore vibration dampening technology is available in the Classic Star, Super Star, and Starline Batons.

Have the student stand with legs together, back straight, and baton twirling arm extended parallel with the floor. Using a cloth measuring tape, measure from the base of the neck to the tip of the middle finger – the result is your suggested baton length. If the number falls between lengths, size up.
Note: Some majorette groups prefer the method of measuring from the under-arm to the end of the middle finger. Consult your group leader before using this method.
Band Shoppe strongly suggests taking student measurements for the most accurate sizing. In situations where you're unable to take measurements, please refer to the guidelines below:
If the twirler is tall for their age, add 1 to 2 inches. If they are small for their age, subtract 1 to 2 inches. These suggested lengths are based on the average student. These guidelines are not a guarantee that the baton will be at the preferred length of the twirler.
